GETTING THERE
What area is the Goddess Garden Eco-Resort in?
Cahuita, Costa Rica. Caribbean Coast. In the jungle, next to the ocean!
What airport will I be flying into?
International flights from the US arrive at (SJO) Juan Santamaria International Airport.
(This airport is 3-4 hours by car from the retreat center.)
How do I take advantage of the free shuttle from SJO to the retreat center?
Flight arrival time on March 15th, 2020: Arrive to SJO before 1:30pm to secure the free shuttle.
Flight Departure time on March 21st, 2020: Depart SJO after 3:45pm if you want to take advantage of the free shuttle. Important: If you have an earlier departure (even 15 minutes earlier, you will need to secure your own return transportation).
Drop off at SJO is scheduled for 12pm, so if you depart after 3pm, this timeframe will leave you a 45 minute window for unexpected traffic and a 2 hour window for international check-in.
I’m not sure if I want to take the free shuttle. What are the different options for ground transportation from the airport?
If you want to have a more “DIY” experience there are a couple of options for you:
1.) Fly from San Jose Airport To Limon International Airport (LIO) on Sansa Air http://www.flysansa.com/en/home and then take a cab to Goddess Garden (this is about a 30 minute cab ride). Flying from San Jose to Limon in these little puddle jumpers is pretty fun and easy! Make sure to check the baggage weight limits on the Sansa website.
2.) Rent a car.
3.) There is a bus that goes from San Jose to Cahuita, the retreat center is about 5 miles from town, so it's best to take a cab from town if you choose this route. Recommended for experienced and resourceful travelers only!
Should I come a day early? Or leave San Jose a day after the retreat?
Yes! Coming on Saturday is highly suggested. Settle in, check out San Jose, have a nice dinner. We will do our best to connect retreat goers on a Facebook group before the retreat so if you want to meet up or share a hotel room, you’ll be able to coordinate.
Where should I stay in San Jose?
There are many great options! Here are just a couple near the airport that we recommend.
Hotel Martino An affordable and luxurious way to extend your stay! The pool is beautiful and the amenities are lovely. There's an Italian restaurant on premise, a 5 minute taxi ride down the street takes you to a great typical Costa Rican restaurant (the front desk staff will help you find your way).
Hotel Aeropuerto A little bit closer to the airport than Hotel Martino. Nice Costa Rican restaurant on site.
COMFORT
What is the weather like there?
Average weather is 80’s during the day and 70’s at night. It will be the dry season in Costa Rica (although it’s still the rainforest, so there may be some rain.)
Is this a trip that I can come on solo?
Yes, people will be coming solo or with friends. Bringing together a diverse group of people is one of the highlights of this retreat! We are hoping to create a lively, fun and safe atmosphere for self-exploration and sharing.
Is the retreat co-ed or women only?
This retreat is inclusive of all/no genders. Everyone is welcome.
Are there a lot of bugs there?
We’ll be advising the use of bug-spray in general. On prior trips to Goddess Garden, we haven’t personally been bothered by bugs.
PRICING
What’s included in the retreat pricing?
Lodging, food (3 organic meals daily), non-alcoholic beverages, daily yoga, intenSati hypnosis and Inten-Sati workshops, and ground transportation to the resort from SJO airport.*
*Other travel costs are not included
What's your refund policy?
In the event of cancellation by the customer, regardless of the circumstances, the following refund fees apply;
If cancellation is made 8 weeks prior to the arrival date a 50% refund is granted.
If cancellation is made 4 to 8 weeks prior to the arrival date a 25% refund is granted.
If cancellation is made less than 28 days before the arrival date no refund is granted.
